December Flies By!

Apparently November was not a good month for pictures. I'm lucky to have any from before our trip. We decorated the house and the girls for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving.
I was struggling to decide if we should travel for these holidays or stay home and try to save as much money as possible. Jason had to endure extreme changes of mind and disposition as I passionately debated with myself which decision was best. Finally I decided that despite my misgivings, we should go and be with family when we can travel pretty easily. It'll be harder when our kids are older for sure. At the same time, Jason decided that he really wanted to stay home. Boo! With my mind made up I turned my efforts to convincing him and we left. The girls slept to begin with and right when they were beginning to get a more demanding, I hit a solid patch of ice on the road.

It freaked me out so bad, I could barely get the car to the side of the road for Jason to take over. I told him that if he hadn't been there, I would have just parked and made someone come get me... We ended up stopping in the next city and staying the night. Jason agreed that with two little ones, driving 5 mph the rest of the way would have been ridiculous. Whitney loved getting into her bathing suit and liked swimming.
We also watched BYU in the Las Vegas Bowl! Go Cougs! The next day, we drove the rest of the way easily. My family all dressed up in our Christmas pajamas to pick Zach (the brother just older than me) from the airport on Christmas Eve.

We spent the night at my sister's house and had so much fun watching all the kids get their presents from Santa. Whitney got a doll house. I think I was more excited than her. I extra enjoy listening to her play pretend with it. Jason went home the day after Christmas because he was asked to speak in church and the girls and I stayed another week up in Deer Valley. The snow was beautiful and Whitney had a blast with her cousins. She's the youngest apart from the babies by at least a year and a half, but her cousins make a special effort to entertain her and play games she can play. I love those kids... it kills me how much I'm missing because we live a few states away.I posted a picture on the blog before of my sister, Lisa. Here she is in all her gorgeousness with her daughter, Courtney, and my mom. This is where Haylee gets her beautiful brown eyes and hair. I feel like she's pretty safe looking like these women. Mom and I joke that Haylee proves that I am in fact her daughter. My brothers used to tease me that I was adopted because of my looks.

And finally a picture of my good friend, Christi Suggs, who came up to visit me while I was in Utah. She and I went to high school together and she is one of the best friends I've ever had. I was pumped that we got to visit and go shopping together because we rarely get to spend more than a couple hours together when she's visiting Washington. She's fabulous!

I missed Jason so much while we were gone but it was great to see my family and when the next visit might not be till next Christmas, it was worth it. And that's the end for one of the longest posts I've done. Happy New Year!!!
