Back in the Saddle Again!

So I decided a few weeks ago that I could handle substitute teaching. So I called the district office and worked it out and now I've done it a few times. Each time it is hard to leave my girls but where we are trying to earn some extra cash before Christmas, I force myself to go. Hathaway Elementary needed a sub the other day... so they got me. I had no idea what to do when the kids started crawling under their desks and saying they didn't want to be friends with each other. There were a few tears shed but no "accidents" (Yay! It was 1st grade...) and a lot of volunteers for everything! Completely opposite of high school.

I've also been tutoring. Work is draining and I feel like I don't have quite as much to give to the girls or Jason. I think I'll continue to sub occasionally after the holidays but maybe not such a regular thing.

Jason's parents came to visit over the weekend. It was way too short and reminded me how much I'm going to miss seeing everyone over Christmas break. We'll miss you guys but it will be worth it if the sacrifice means that we can be financially stable. I've got to say that I have the best in-laws in the world. Most people complain about their spouse's family, but I have no reason to say a word! Not only are Jason's parents fabulous, but I really feel like a big sister too, something I've always wanted. I love those Tippetts people. They did a pretty good job with Jason too.

I've totally fallen off the wagon with exercise. Anyone have any encouraging words for the winter or should I just hibernate?

I had a crazy dream last night-you were in it, Amanda! Random. It wasn't really that crazy, but funny! Are you guys going to be in town dec 30-jan 3?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we will be. I'm thinking we'll stay home for the holidays. We haven't decided for absolutely sure but I think we'll be back before New Years if we go. It'd be fun to see you guys.

Amanda, you are the most energetic person I know. I'm sure you are doing great balancing it all! I have voted hibernation for myself. It sounds nicer!
