Crafts for a week

I was admiring these great big letters they were making for a super Saturday in another ward and my mom, being the renaissance woman that she is, told me we could make them ourselves. Before I knew it, we were at the lumber yard getting plywood. First we cut out the big letters and painted them white. I think we meant for it to end there... Then we cut out the blocks for the smaller letters and painted them white. About 20 layers of paint and modge podge and 5 trips to the craft store later, these were born. I told mom that if she had told me when we started that it would take as long as it did, I would have ran for the door, but projects like these just evolve I guess. Each new idea was too good to resist. The little girls hanging by the letters were a garage sell purchase from months ago and everyone hated them but me. We had to take them down to put up the names and I thought we'd be able to decorate them with left-overs but they warranted their own trip to the craft store... Mom had to put her skills to use to make them up to her standards.

I don't think anyone else will appreciate these as much as I do. We had a good time making them and they cover so much of the walls that I won't have to worry about any other decorations. You guys all need to come to our house and visit just to see them in person cause the pictures just don't do them justice. I couldn't have done it without my mom. I wouldn't have even thought it was possible. She's one amazing lady!
We are getting Haylee ready for Halloween. I've got a couple of Halloween shirts for Whitney too. I think this time of year is so fun. It's non-stop holidays until 2010!! I was debating getting their pictures taken this week in Halloween costumes but I want to be able to give them out for Christmas and that might be a little weird.

Man, those are sooo cute!!! When are coming down to do mine? Hee,hee! Seriously, though, when I'm up there for New Year's I might come over and study those a bit.

Cute, cute, cute! You may have to teach me how to do those. I've always admired your creativeness. Oh and I think the little girl hangings make it that much cuter!
