Working Mom!

I grew up in Washougal and must admit that I never thought I would move back. Yet, here I am! It was crazy enough seeing people from high school at the grocery store but now I'm working at the high school and the teachers expect me to call them by their first name!
A month ago, when I felt the bug to work, I had my dad call Mr. Washburn, the assistant principal, and let him know I was back. I thought nothing would come of it, but a few weeks later a part-time math teaching job just fell into my lap. It seemed so perfect for our situation that Jason and I prayed about it and decided to go with it. I get to the school around 7 AM and teach from 9 to noon. I'm still not used to the time away from Whitney. I don't feel like it's a break, I just miss her. Jason leaves when I get home and I'm starting to miss him also.
I'm working to teach the students more than just math and I hope I'm making a difference. It's only been a week so we'll see!

Congrats Amanda! I know you must be a great teacher, those kids are lucky to have you! Yeah, must be a little weird being back at home, especially teaching at the high school but I bet being back in town that doesn't feel like Las Vegas is also nice. We miss you here!
